pickles?

I listened to a 10 min phone conversation about pickles in the grocery store yesterday. I only heard the pickle part because I was stuck in line, but we can assume the rest conversation was equally riveting. I'm not sure what bothered me more- the fact that anyone is so socially inept that they have to call people they are comfortable with to discuss something as inane as pickles in order to avoid any human interaction and help them through the mentally exhausting experience that is the grocery store, or the fact that I could only hear one half of the conversation and couldn't ascertain whether the person on the other end was fighting for, or against dill.
